Overview

pookbook is designed from the ground up to be an offline-first, private desktop workspace for notes and code. We strongly believe that your documents, code, notes, and ideas belong solely to you.

pookbook does not collect, track, transmit, or sell any personal information or telemetry.

1. Information Collection and Storage

No Personal Data Collection: pookbook does not collect personal identifiers such as names, email addresses, IP addresses, device identifiers, or payment details.
No Account Required: You do not need an account or login to use pookbook.
Local Storage Only: All notes, markdown files, directory structures, preferences, and session data are stored exclusively on your local computer. PookBook does not run background sync servers or remote databases.
File System Access: pookbook accesses local directories and files solely to read, edit, index, and save the notes and files that you explicitly choose to open within the app.

2. Telemetry and Analytics

Zero Tracking: pookbook contains no tracking pixels, advertising frameworks, third-party analytics libraries, or telemetry SDKs.
No Crash Reporting Transmissions: We do not automatically send crash dumps or usage logs over the internet.

3. Integrated Web View

When using the optional embedded browser tabs to view websites or local previews:

Web requests are made directly between your local device and the website you visit via the native Microsoft WebView2 engine.
pookbook does not monitor, record, or transmit your browsing history, cookies, or entered credentials to any third party or developer server.

4. Children’s Privacy

Because pookbook collects no personal information whatsoever from any user, it does not collect information from children under the age of 13.

5. Third-Party Disclosures

We do not sell, trade, rent, or otherwise transfer your data to outside parties.

If this Privacy Policy is updated in the future, this text will be appropriately updated.
